Happy FriYAY everyone!! I can't believe it is almost Halloween! Like all of you I am sure, I love bringing seasonal activities into my classroom.
Today I am so excited to link up with The Elementary Entourage for a trick AND treat post!! I have for you 2 tricks and 1 treat! 🙂
My first trick is easy peasy!! We ALL loooove the target dollar spot yes? It's ok you don't have to admit how many times you go there. 😉 I may or may not be heading to Target after school today…HA! I love grabbing their seasonal items to use in my classroom. While the possibilities are endless for their uses, lately I have been using some of my finds for classroom management! Boy does it work like a charm!!
I picked up these 3 cute pens towards the beginning of the month. I put them on the board or under my document camera while working. I pick 1-3 students each day who get to choose a pen to write with for the remainder of the day. I look for students who are engaged in learning, transitioning well, participating, etc. They LOVE it. These pens have been perfect for the month of October.
I can't wait to scoop something else up from the dollar spot to use in the coming months! So stop by (you were going to anyways!) and see if you can grab these to use in your classroom!
Something I love doing in my classroom is using my iPad to show the station task cards in small group. I love using task cards as a station in math. I mostly put the cards around the room and let my students hunt for them as a “solve the room” activity.
A lot of times I want to work on these problems with some of my students who need extra help. Instead of printing another copy, I just add the file to google drive! This way I can grab a couple iPads and pull it up that way. My students love anything iPad so they are still very engaged! I also love that this doesn't require many devices.
I love using the “show me” app on another device to help show their work too. You could use this “trick” with just one iPad or tablet! Here are some of my students this week working on some problems with me at the teacher table!
That brings me to my treat! This spooky solve the room is the perfect activity for the next couple of weeks! Like I said I love using them in my math stations, but there are many possibilities.
You can use them as a scoot activity or fast finishers too! This resource is on sale for today and tomorrow!

A student of mine gave me the purple pen the first week of October. I've been pretending it talks to me about who is behaving & I'll pop it in my bun and pretend its telling me who is talking (really I just know their voices haha) This has been highly entertaining for me, my students, and my colleagues.

The monster pencil idea is fantastic! I know the kids must love when they are chosen to use the fun pencil!
