I can't believe it is already time to {REFRESH} for BTS! whattt!!
Here are my areas to refresh for this school year!!
Communication: Like I mentioned in my first post, I had a classroom Instagram that went so well with my parents last year! This year I plan to continue that as well as add a classroom twitter account! I am so excited to bring this form of communication to my classroom. You can read more about it AND grab a free parent form here!
Content: Usually my team each plans a subject and then we share plans and discuss them. This year, our curriculum is changing so we are going to start off by completely planning as a team. This does not mean that each classroom will look the exact same, but it provides us with a lot of communicating and collaborating. I think it will take more time but I am interested to see how it goes.. Do you plan as a team? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Management: I have always had some sort of classroom economy going on in my classroom. I have used Class Dojo and then I give them their points in “tickets” which were a school wide program. I have also had them keep track of their points from me and Class Dojo and then “cash” them in. That being said I have not had an actual consistent system that I am 100% happy with. One goal I have this year is to start off the year with an actual system in place! I am not sure if I want to money or continue with our school wide point system yet. I am still thinking on this, but I am excited to see how it goes this year!
Summer project: My summer project was to blog more and revamp and create new products!! I can honestly say I think I actually did this! I participated in linkys, blogged about DIY curtains, social media in the classroom, and more! I also revamped and created all of these resources below! It was a busy summer but a good one!
I am not *quite* ready for the new year but I am getting there! 🙂
I would love to read your {refreshing} ideas! Grab this image and link up below!! 🙂
Teaching Little Miracles
Hi Ashley! I would love to plan as a team! I work in a small school, so only one teacher per grade level in the entire district. I love my small school, but I definitely miss collaborating with a friend and teammate! I use Dojo in my room too. The students earn points each week and then sign up on a prize sheet for what they would like to do. It's dry erase, so I just wipe clean and we are ready to go again the next week. Love how it has worked!
