My Classroom

My classroom is something I spend a lot of time, effort, ~~blood/sweat/tears~~, and love on…as I am sure all of you do! I am so excited to reveal it to you! I moved classrooms this year and have more space PLUS 2 new windows… *swoon* See captions for where to buy or download resources!

Outside of my classroom I have my classroom Instagram board. I love filling this up with pictures throughout the year from our class account! {pencil sign from Tallahassee Sunday}

Near my doorway is my “3” banner, class dojo expectations, and hydration station. The students keep their water bottles here during the day instead of on their desk…less spills and distractions! I LOVE the RESPECT posters I could for free from Digital Divide and Conquer!

Near the back of the room I have tables and stools for laptop use. This space has kind of become a makerspace in my room! The kids have been using it for everything-completely on their own! Reading, station time, independent work, partner games, etc! They really love these stools from Ikea! ($5!) I made these positive quote posters last year and I just love them!!

I am loving the fact that I have windows this year!! It is so welcoming and homey. I can turn out the lights, and with my lamps and natural sunlight we can still work. I love it! I made these curtains myself-easy peasy!! I wrote a blog post on them here! This is my little window corner of happiness. 🙂

Our sweet behavior tray is for when we get compliment “cupcakes” as a class! I really love how my birthday “chart” turned out as well. I am considering posting this on my blog as a freebie! It is so easy to see what birthdays are coming up!

In 3rd grade the calendar is just mainly used to show the date. 😉 Here I took a calendar from Mardel and added some cuteness to the days of the week! I have a boy and girl helper each week-keepin' it simple! One of my FAVORITE things in this picture are my table group incentives. Each table has a bucket and they can earn sparklers for behavior! It WORKS!!! I believe I saw this idea from A Cupcake for the Teacher!

I just ADORE this cart I got from Sam's Club! I know that Ikea sells them too! Here is a link to one on Amazon! I spray painted it mine gray. It is perfect for small group supplies, carpet meeting items, and just random stuff!!

I use my voice-o-meter daily in my classroom! It is a great visual for where our voices should be on different activities. I used my cameo to create this “today's date is” so I do not have to always write it!! My Cameo is the greatest thing ever. seriously. getcha one!!!

This is my new “bravo” board! I just love hashtags so I had to incorporate some somehow! My class wrote what they are the most excited about for this year and I put those up for now! This display is SO easy. 12 by 12 cardstock from Hobby Lobby. Laminate. Add their name to a clothespin. DONE!:)

I love a cute workspace. 😉 The back of my desk is not quite finished yet. Instagram pictures, bible verses, and a reminder to slow down is my kind of desk decor! I have free water color bible verses here! Monthly calendar from Blair Turner Paper.

I may be a little obsessed with posters in my classroom! I have my kids reference them ALL the time. Pretty soon, they are going up to them as a reminder while working on their own! This section of my classroom is where we turn in homework, our schedule, rules, blooms posters, etc! Parts of speech posters here!

The other side of that bulletin board is our stations board. It is where my students go each week to know what stations to complete in LA and Math. All of their materials are there on the table as well!

Near the “maker space” in my room I have our laptop cart, our headphone basket, device storage, and technology posters!

Organized storage is REALLY important to me! 😉 I love labeling everything!! This is our math manipulatives storage that I keep near the front of the room, and our extra classroom supplies that are in the back!

In my classroom I only have student desks… I put them together to make tables. This works really well to build classroom community! My name plates can be found here!

I really love Amy's posters for reading comprehension! This is the right side of my whiteboard. I have my vocabulary board (adding some math words TODAY thanks to Jillian at Starr Spangled Planner, and I put up our LA vocab for the week as well!)

The students keep unfinished work in this basket as well as turn it in when they have completed it. I wrote a blog post about this system here! I have them highlight their name before they turn it in. I bet you can guess why!! 😉 Also, instead of bombarding me in the mornings with their absence notes or parent forms. I just have them drop it in this basket for me to check later!

This is a space that an old TV used to go in… I tried to cozy it up a bit! Two wood signs are from Hobby Lobby and baskets are from Target!

My absolute favorite part of my classroom is my book nook! Not only because I LOVE reading, but because I think it is so calming and welcoming! I made another ribbon banner for the window. The rug and pillow are from Ikea. The shelves, chair, and lamp are from target. I have some comprehension posters over here in this corner for reminders while reading as well!
